Alison Smith Story

Alison Smith Story is a dynamic entrepreneur and vintner whose career began in the world of professional sports. A native of Fort Worth, Texas, and Baylor University alumna, Alison launched her professional journey with the NHL’s Dallas Stars, where she worked in marketing and broadcasting. Her early career also included time with Infinity Broadcasting and the Texas Rangers, where she honed her skills in media, storytelling, and brand building. These early experiences laid the foundation for a fearless and creative approach to business that would later serve her in the world of wine.

In 2014, after a decade of wine buying and founding ‘TexaCali Wine Co.” an Austin, Texas based sales & marketing firm. Alison co-founded Smith Story Wine Cellars in Sonoma County with her husband, Eric Story, blending their decades of experience in the wine industry. The Story’s chose Kickstarter.com to launch using crowdfunding and organic social media. The winery quickly gained acclaim for its integrity, classic winemaking, and focus on small family-farmed vineyards across California and Germany.

Their beloved Goldendoodle, Lord Sandwich, became an integral part of their brand and inspired the Socks for Sandwich nonprofit, which donates new socks to those in need. During Alison’s battle with breast cancer in 2021, she launched BRAVE, a wine project born from resilience and personal transformation. This journey has now evolved into Domaine De Brave.com—a new gift box and lifestyle concept rooted in celebration, wellness, and bravery. Alison’s story continues to inspire through her entrepreneurial courage, community advocacy, engaging storytelling and unwavering commitment to making meaningful, beautiful things.
